Mr. Mohmad Abdullah has vast experience in marine operation, marine survey, P&I survey, marine consultant, marine & P&I claims, oil pollution, business management and development. His sea carrier path began in 1986, when he joined MISC LNG vessels as deck cadet, and graduated in 1990 to serve the crude oil tankers and petroleum product tankers. He was doing part time marine survey work during the shore leave break until year 1994 decided to quit sailing due to family commitment. He joined M/s Boustead Shipping Agencies Sdn Bhd as part of P&I correspondent team and as P&I surveyor with Bestari Marine Sdn. Bhd. (a subsidiary of Boustead Holding Company).Other than P&I correspondent, marine claims and survey work, he also carried out the valuation survey of the vessels for pre-purchase and insurance purposes. Due to challenges task on marine commercial work and to fulfil self ambition, in 1996 he enrolled the program of Master in Business Administration with Leicester University, UK (the program conducted by British Council, Malaysia via visiting lectures from Leicester, UK).
In 1999 he was awarded with MBA (General Degree). This qualification opens the route for his career enhancement. In 2005 he joined Spica Services (M) Sdn. Bhd. (Spica) to take the challenges in handling more P&I Clubs in Malaysia as correspondent. As a manager for Spica Services (M) Sdn. Bhd., he is responsible to provide the services to the Clubs members for all the P&I matter, with sometimes related to hull and machinery. This opens the opportunity for him to expand his network with the top leader of shipping industry, lawyers, marine brokers and government authorities. In 2008, he enrolled Doctorate in Business Administration (DBA) program with University Utara Malaysia , and currently he is doing his research in the area of “Service Quality” His ambition to join the entrepreneur world make him quit from his position as manager of M/s Spica Services Sdn. Bhd.In January 2012 , Mr. Mohmad Abdullah setup his own marine consultant and survey business.
Mr Mohmad had also carried out the consultant research project for government of Malaysia to develop the fishery industry, and had published a journal from this research titled “THE MARKETING STRATEGIES AND CHALLENGES OF MALAYSIA TO BECOME A MAIN FISH EXPORTER IN SOUTH EAST ASIA: A CASE STUDY IN THE EAST COAST OF PENINSULAR MALAYSIA”. This paper was present in “Society of Interdisciplinary Business Research Advancing Knowledge from Interdisciplinary Perspectives” in Thailand on June 2012.
